The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hooidjonk fails with the takedown.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hooidjonk looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! McTavish has picked Hooidjonk up and slammed him! Hooidjonk can't keep hold of the triangle and McTavish manages to pass to side control!

McTavish decides to stand back up. McTavish steps back and let's Hooidjonk get back to his feet.

McTavish throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hooidjonk sees it coming and avoids it easily.
McTavish misses with a wild combination.
McTavish scores with a crisp jab that stopped Hooidjonk in his tracks.
Hooidjonk takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Hooidjonk tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but McTavish paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Hooidjonk shoots for a double leg takedown but McTavish sprawls well. He's pushed Hooidjonk's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

McTavish tries to bum rush Hooidjonk with a series of wild strikes but Hooidjonk uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
McTavish throws a series of punches but Hooidjonk avoids them all with ease.
Hooidjonk moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
McTavish throws a lazy right hand but Hooidjonk sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
McTavish is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

McTavish cracks Hooidjonk with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. McTavish has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Hooidjonk to stand back up!
McTavish is throwing a storm of strikes! Right hook, left hook and follows it up with a spinning back fist! Hooidjonk hits the canvas like a rag doll! And just like that, this one is over!
