Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Genco Taico (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dirk Overeem (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Taico kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Apaga, mas não bate. Genco Taico could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Dirk Overeem's chin.

The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Paul Aken and Aafke Stam.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taico takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Overeem scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.

Taico feints and as Overeem raises his hands in defense, Taico changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Overeem pushes Taico off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Taico forces Overeem back against the cage and clinches.

Taico wants the takedown. Overeem is fighting it off but Taico persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Overeem's guard against the cage.

Overeem is looking for a triangle but Taico pushes his legs off easily.

Taico drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Taico jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Taico drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Overeem manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Taico has Overeem in his guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Taico working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Overeem doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Overeem manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Overeem is looking to work some ground and pound but Taico has wrist control.

Taico is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Overeem is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Overeem postures up.
Taico is breathing heavily.
Overeem throwing strikes from guard but Taico blocks nicely.

Taico is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Overeem wants to control from the top but Taico keeps moving.

Overeem decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Taico, up you get!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Taico gets the takedown into side control.
Overeem tries to improve position but can't.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
You can see the frustration on Overeem's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Taico wants to lay and pray for a moment but Overeem keeps working.
Overeem tries to buck Taico off but Taico is having none of it.
Overeem manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Overeem seems to be looking for submissions.
Ground and pound from Overeem.
Taico might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Taico lands with a few short shots to the body.
Overeem landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Overeem is looking to advance position but Taico won't allow it.
Taico has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Overeem is working away from the top position though.

Taico is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Overeem pulls his head out easily.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Taico is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Overeem gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Taico gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Overeem.

Overeem escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Overeem throws a nice looking combination but Taico bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Overeem scores with a sloppy right hand. Taico should have avoided that one.
Overeem lands a body shot.
Taico shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Overeem as he jumps to the side.
Taico shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Overeem looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Taico!

Overeem is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Overeem extends the arm and Taico is forced to tap!
