Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alex Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and marcus davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
davis misses with a jab, cross combination.

Rua slips under a jab.
Rua lands with a nice body punch.
Rua tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Rua looks for a takedown but davis sprawls well.
davis swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Rua drives through and clinches with davis against the cage.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Rua ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Rua no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Rua has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Rua lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for davis!
davis is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Rua feints and then cracks davis's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow davis down.
