PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nick Slick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ty Law (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Law comes into a darkened arena with his song building. We Run This Town kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Steve Smith and Robert Douchet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Law fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Slick avoids it really well and circles away.
Slick avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Law changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Slick tries to avoid it but Law manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Slick to the ground. Slick escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Slick lunges at Law with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Law's hand.

Law scores a takedown into full mount!
Slick tries to reverse the position but Law maintains control.
Slick is squirming around, avoiding Law's attempts to control the action.
Law won't let Slick get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Law is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Law is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Slick is surviving well by controlling Law's body position as best he can.

Law is standing up, even though he is in mount.
Slick misses with a jab, cross combination.
Slick explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Law takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Slick - that will leave a mark!

Slick fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Law on the side of the head.

Slick clinches up against the cage.

Slick is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Law can't fight it off and eventually Slick manages to take the fight to the floor. Law looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Law tries to keep at a distance but Slick has taken the fight into the clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Slick stalks Law and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Law's face. Law staggers backwards, shaken.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Slick, right into the meat.
Slick tries to close the distance and clinch up but Law swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Law is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Slick moves into range and clinches up with Law.

Slick has picked Law up - he's going for a ride! Slick dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Law unloads with some shots from mount but Slick bucks and avoids them well.
Law won't let Slick get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

Law is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Slick can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

You get the feeling that Slick really doesn't like being in this position too much.
