PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Magne Midgard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Quik Yin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Midgard comes to the cage accompanied by Crazy Train. The crowd seem to be enjoying Yin's choice of entrance music: I Got A Feeling (lol :P). Quik Yin told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yin tries for a takedown but Midgard sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Yin throws a big shot that misses.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Midgard.

Yin takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

That was a close round but I would say that Magne Midgard will probably get the nod.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

That was a close second round but I would say that Magne Midgard will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Yin shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Yin was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Midgard is looking to improve his position but Yin isn't that keen on the idea.

Yin is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Midgard has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Midgard!

Yin has his foot on Midgard's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Midgard works his way back into a safe position though.

Midgard gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Midgard dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Yin. That did some damage!

The fighters circle momentarily. Midgard darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Yin takes a swing at Midgard's ribcage but misses.

Yin shoots for a double leg takedown but Midgard sprawls well. He's pushed Yin's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Yin dives in and grabs Midgard's left leg, looking for a takedown. Midgard pushes down on Yin's head and hops out.

Midgard does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Midgard is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Yin is defending well for now.
Yin tries to pull guard but Midgard holds him up against the cage and eventually Yin drops back down to his feet.

Yin is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Midgard is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Yin is wobbling all over the place through exhaustion. Will he make it to the final bell?

Midgard tries to bum rush Yin with a series of wild strikes but Yin uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Yin thuds a left hand into Midgard's body.
Yin's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
