Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Danny DeVito!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dixon Ermouth!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Alan Glass and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
DeVito paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
DeVito slips a jab from Ermouth.
Ermouth just misses with a punch to the body.
Ermouth throws a right and a left that DeVito avoids nicely.
DeVito looks to score with a jab to the body but Ermouth is just out of range.
DeVito uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Ermouth.
Ermouth misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
DeVito swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
DeVito throws a shot from downtown. Ermouth moves away and avoids it.
DeVito slips under a jab from Ermouth.
Ermouth shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
DeVito gets cracked there but stands up to it.
DeVito ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

DeVito feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ermouth can do anything to dispel that myth.

DeVito uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Ermouth.
Dixon Ermouth seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

DeVito fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
DeVito stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Ermouth takes one on the chin but seems OK.
DeVito shoots in for a takedown but Ermouth shows good takedown defense.

Ermouth gets caught flat footed, as DeVito shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Ermouth keeping moving, preventing DeVito from controlling successfully.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Ermouth is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Ermouth tries to land a front kick but DeVito steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Dixon Ermouth is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
DeVito uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Ermouth.

DeVito tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ermouth was well out of range. Poor timing from DeVito.

Ermouth uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

DeVito catches Ermouth with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

DeVito shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

DeVito goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Ermouth is on top in guard.
Ermouth must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
DeVito pulls Ermouth in close to prevent any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Ermouth's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
DeVito throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

DeVito has hold of Ermouth's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Ermouth manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
