The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Paulo Santos and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ribeiro takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Ribeiro shoots for a double leg takedown but Garcia sprawls well. He's pushed Ribeiro's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Garcia throws a sloppy head kick and Ribeiro moves out of range easily.
No luck for Ribeiro with that takedown attempt.
Garcia throws a body kick that misses.
Ribeiro shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Garcia but Garcia pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Leon Garcia has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alexandre Ribeiro.
Garcia tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ribeiro was well out of range. Poor timing from Garcia.
Leon Garcia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ribeiro closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Ribeiro lands in his opponent's guard.

Garcia lands a big head kick that sends Ribeiro to the canvas! Garcia follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
