PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rady Remigio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin Durant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rady Remigio!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kevin Durant!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yuuki Gou.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Durant closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Durant is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Remigio might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Durant wants to lay and pray for a moment but Remigio keeps working.
Remigio throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.
You can see the frustration on Remigio's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Remigio tries to buck Durant off but Durant is having none of it.
Durant wants to control but Remigio is keeping him busy.
Durant remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Remigio is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Durant is pressed up against the cage. Remigio has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Durant down to the mat. Durant avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rady Remigio. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Remigio manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Remigio is looking to control Durant's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Remigio avoid being mounted?

Durant working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Remigio's thigh. Remigio counters though and makes it back to full guard.

Remigio had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Durant is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Remigio Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Durant's back instead.
Durant is taking damage to the body and head.
Remigio lands a shot to the body.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Durant is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Remigio gets his way!
This has been an exciting period of action!

I really don't envy Durant right now.
Durant controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad spot.
Remigio has Durant flattened out and is raining down punches.

Remigio has his arm under Durant's chin here. Game over son! Remigio squeezes tightly and Durant is forced to tap out!
