Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between punishment cruel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thaddeus Reese (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). cruel comes into the arena with Enter Sandman blaring out of the sound system. punishment cruel has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reese will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Reese moves into range and connects with a jab.
Reese misses with a kick to the body.
Reese doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Thaddeus Reese seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Reese is pressed up against the cage. cruel has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Reese down to the mat. Reese avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
cruel slips a jab and a cross from Reese.

Reese comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
cruel wants to clinch up but Reese keeps it at a distance.

cruel fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Reese.

Reese looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Reese tries to break free but cruel pushes him back against the cage.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now cruel is on top in guard.

cruel stands and steps away. Reese gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by cruel.
cruel lands with a right hand.
cruel lands a nice shot that snaps Reese's head back.
cruel tries to close the distance and clinch up but Reese swats him away and circles back towards the center.
cruel throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Reese.

Reese has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

cruel feints and then cracks Reese's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Reese down.

Reese wants to break free but cruel has control.

cruel goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Reese tries to break the clinch but cruel is controlling the position.
Reese wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

cruel's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
cruel lands a really nice looking cross but Reese seems unphased.

cruel rushes Reese and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

cruel escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

cruel drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Reese gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Reese wants to get back to striking at distance but cruel won't allow it.

and cruel counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
