Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Byron Derksen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Derksen comes to the cage accompanied by Mindless Self Indulgence- Bitches. Miller is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: ABBA - Dancing Queen. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Byron Derksen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Robert Miller!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, John Kavanagh and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Derksen shoots in for a takedown but Miller shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Derksen keeps the fight on the outside.

Miller closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Miller lands in his opponent's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Derksen keeping full guard, as Miller tries to pass.
Derksen has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Miller got a little sloppy there for a moment and Derksen has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Miller has managed to get both his arms back between Derksen's legs - danger averted.
Miller postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Derksen looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Miller puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Miller is looking for a kimura here.
Miller tries to pass the half guard into mount. Derksen knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Miller thows a huge punch but Derksen dodges it nicely.
Ground and pound from Miller.

Miller decides to return to a standing position.
Miller tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Derksen paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Miller keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Miller fails with the takedown
and Derksen makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Derksen takes the fight into the clinch.

Derksen gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Miller wants to control but Derksen is keeping busy and won't allow it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Derksen is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Miller looking for submissions off his back.
Derksen tries to stand but can't do so whilst Miller controls his leg.
Miller trying to control but Derksen postures up.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Derksen lands a nice short elbow.
Miller tries to roll over but Derksen keeps him under control.
Derksen seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Miller wants to improve his position but Derksen is controlling well.
Miller is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Derksen trying to mount his opponent but Miller defends it.
Derksen knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Miller on the ground.
Miller manages to get to full guard.
Derksen trying to control the position from guard on top but Miller is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Miller manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Derksen manages to get himself to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Derksen pushes Miller off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Derksen pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Derksen jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Derksen shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Miller defends it nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Byron Derksen. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Miller gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Derksen counters with a single leg into guard. Miller didn't expect that.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Derksen wants to pass the guard but Miller is keeping the position.
Derksen controls from within his opponent's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Byron Derksen dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Derksen shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Derksen was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Miller is working to get back to half guard.
Miller should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Derksen controlling from the full mount.
Miller's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Miller tries to reverse the position but Derksen maintains control.
Derksen looking to control and managing it successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Derksen avoids the attempt from Miller to control.
Miller squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Miller is in all sorts of trouble here.
Derksen controlling the position easily from mount.

Derksen is working for a guillotine from mount but Miller frees his head quite easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Derksen blocks Miller's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Miller is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Miller tries to hold on but Derksen postures up.
Derksen trying to control but Miller is having none of it.

Derksen goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Miller is on top in guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Derksen pulls Miller in close to prevent any damage.
Miller working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Derksen's head.
Derksen preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Miller passes Derksen's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Miller seems to be looking for submissions.
Derksen wants to get back to full guard.

Miller is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Derksen sees it coming and defends easily.
Miller is breathing heavily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Miller stops Derksen from getting back to his feet.

Miller trying to pass the guard but Derksen defending well.

Miller is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Derksen is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Robert Miller!
