The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Felipe Paraventi and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
purguinha wants to clinch.
vandenbroucke wants to clinch but purguinha slips to the side
and purguinha finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
A slapping body kick lands there for purguinha.
vandenbroucke tries to land a body kick
and purguinha counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
purguinha is pushing vandenbroucke up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
purguinha is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. vandenbroucke can't fight it off and eventually purguinha manages to take the fight to the floor. vandenbroucke looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
vandenbroucke wants to stand up but purguinha is controlling him.
vandenbroucke is looking for a triangle but purguinha pushes his legs off easily.
purguinha stands up and waves to vandenbroucke to follow him.

purguinha misses with a few strikes there.
vandenbroucke misses with the combination.
A big left from vandenbroucke misses.
vandenbroucke shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. purguinha manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
vandenbroucke is sitting in close to purguinha's body. purguinha has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! vandenbroucke is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, vandenbroucke is tapping! That was a very nice submission by purguinha.
