The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
johnson fails in his attempt to clinch.
Marion tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but johnson swivels and escapes.

Marion shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Marion showed some decent athleticism there.

Marion wants to work for an arm triangle but johnson is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

johnson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Marion drops back looking for a leg! johnson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and johnson manages to kick Marion off! Marion jumps back into johnson's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Marion postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! johnson is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Marion, into his guard.

johnson drops back, looking for a kneebar! Marion looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Marion looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Marion!

Marion is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but johnson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

johnson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Marion fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Horrible takedown by Marion or perhaps it was just good defense by johnson which made him look bad.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
johnson pulls Marion in close to prevent any damage.

Marion drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and johnson dives on top into guard.
johnson postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Marion escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. johnson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
johnson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Marion throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Marion had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. johnson is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Marion Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take johnson's back instead.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Marion is throwing strikes by johnson counters by rolling into a better position. After a scramble, johnson regains half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Quinn Marion showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

johnson moves in looking to clinch but Marion pushes him off.
johnson throws a head kick but Marion moves out of range.
Marion looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Marion fails with an attempt to clinch.

Marion changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. johnson tries to avoid it but Marion manages to keep hold of a leg and drag johnson to the ground. johnson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

johnson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Marion tries to land a sweep but no joy.
johnson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Marion looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! johnson has picked Marion up and slammed him! Marion can't keep hold of the triangle and johnson manages to pass to side control!

So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Quinn Marion has got the better of the ground game so far.

Marion is having to fend off submission attempts from johnson, who is looking to sink in the choke. johnson doesn't have the hooks in though and Marion manages to reverse position! He's now on top, in his opponent's guard.
john johnson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

johnson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Marion defends well.
Quinn Marion is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Marion drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Marion jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
