Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joshua Turner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lars Anderssen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joshua Turner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lars Anderssen!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Frank Dennis and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Turner looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Anderssen utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Anderssen is trying to keep Turner in close.
Turner stays in close to Anderssen's body and controls the position.
Turner advances position into side control!
Turner throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Anderssen is not content to let Turner control the position.
Turner is putting a hurting on Anderssen here, landing some big shots from side control.
Turner throws a strike aimed at the side of Anderssen's head but Anderssen avoids it well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Turner is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Anderssen's shoulder. That is not cool.

Anderssen tries to buck Turner off but Turner is having none of it.

Turner is putting a hurting on Anderssen here, landing some big shots from side control.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Anderssen tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Turner presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Turner has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Turner has hold of Anderssen's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Anderssen manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Anderssen is desperately trying to improve his position but Turner has a good base and remains in mount.

Turner wants to control the pace but Anderssen is squirming around nicely.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Turner jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Anderssen manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Turner takes a little break here. Anderssen wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Anderssen is looking to regain half guard here but Turner keeps moving and retains side control.
Anderssen is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Turner landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Turner wants to take a breather but Anderssen is having none of it.
Turner looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

and Turner counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Anderssen throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Turner wants to pass the guard but Anderssen is keeping the position.

Turner cracks Anderssen with a big right hand but Anderssen just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Turner is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Anderssen is looking to improve his position.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Turner connects with a nice short shot to Anderssen's temple.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Turner cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Anderssen is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Anderssen swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
Anderssen is looking to improve his position but Turner isn't that keen on the idea.
The referee warns Anderssen that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Anderssen keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

BOOM! Turner connects with a massive shot to the dome!


Anderssen is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Anderssen is still in real trouble! Can Turner finish him?

Turner breaks from Anderssen's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Turner goes for an armbar but Anderssen turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Anderssen.
Anderssen seems to have recovered his senses.
Anderssen thows a big elbow that misses.
Anderssen looking to sit in guard and control but Turner gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Turner seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Anderssen does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Turner lands a nice short elbow.

Anderssen misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Anderssen doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Turner counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Anderssen's guard now.
Turner slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Anderssen tries to buck Turner off but Turner is having none of it.
Anderssen is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Anderssen has momentary wrist control but Turner slips an elbow through the middle.
Turner is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Anderssen can do to turn this around?

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Anderssen wants to clinch but Turner slips to the side

and Turner counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Turner stands up over Anderssen, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Anderssen wants to stand and escape but Turner is having none of it.

Anderssen is trying to control the position but Turner postures up.
Turner sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Anderssen's guard.
Turner wants to lay and pray for a moment but Anderssen keeps working.
Anderssen is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Turner's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Turner's back!

Anderssen gets his hands free as Turner looks to control.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Anderssen's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Turner looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Turner tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Turner is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Anderssen is going olschool here, as he tries to force Turner to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Turner shrugs it off.
Turner is in all sorts of trouble here.

Turner is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Anderssen throws some wild stikes that Turner manages to avoid easily.
Turner tries to hold on but Anderssen postures up.
Anderssen trying to control but Turner is having none of it.
Joshua Turner is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Lars Anderssen has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Turner holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Anderssen tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Turner sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Well Turner has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
