Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Steve Zaretski!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Daniel Cesar and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Case tries to clinch but Zaretski is having none of it.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Zaretski is defended easily by Case.

Zaretski shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Case is trying to defend but Zaretski finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Case slaps away a takedown attempt from Zaretski, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Zaretski closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Zaretski lands in his opponent's guard.
Case is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Zaretski is controlling him.
Zaretski has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Zaretski misses with a body shot.
Case uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Zaretski.

Case moves into the clinch.
Zaretski tries to break free but Case pushes him back against the cage.

Case breaks from the clinch.

Zaretski shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Case manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Zaretski lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Case is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Case has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Zaretski can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Zaretski drops back, looking for a kneebar! Case looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Case looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Case!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Case tries to clinch up but Zaretski circles away and keeps his distance.
Zaretski avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Zaretski swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Zaretski shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Case defends it nicely.

Zaretski is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Case rather than just go for the knockout.
Case tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Zaretski paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Zaretski fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Just Case has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steve Zaretski.
Case is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Zaretski is defending well for now.
Case lands an elbow that stopped Zaretski in his tracks for a moment.
Case is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Case with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Case pushes off an throws an elbow but Zaretski leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Case's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Zaretski fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Case manages to avoid it.
Case looks to land a body kick but Zaretski moved away.
Zaretski swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Zaretski fails to land with a series of punches.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Zaretski throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Case's waist but Case gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Zaretski off to one side.
Case tries to close the distance and clinch up but Zaretski swats him away and circles back towards the center.

The fighters circle, before Case throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Zaretski's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Case lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!
