Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Thiago Torres!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Roman Deckers!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Luis Engracia and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Torres closes the distance and clinches up with Deckers, looking for a takedown. Torres pushes Deckers against the cage but Deckers circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Deckers tries for a takedown but Torres circles away easily
and Torres counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Torres stands up over Deckers, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Torres lands a couple of elbows.
Torres stands and throws Deckers's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Torres looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Torres tries to move to mount but Deckers blocks the move with his legs.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Deckers defending against the ground and pound.
Torres is putting a hurting on Deckers here, landing some big shots from side control.
Torres creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Torres working the head with strikes.
Torres is chipping away with strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Torres sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Deckers is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Torres scores with a couple of short elbows.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Deckers looks gassed!
Deckers is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Torres asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Torres is chipping away with strikes.
Torres scoring with punches and elbows.
Deckers really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Torres. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Deckers takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Check out the look on Torres's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Torres thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Torres is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Deckers is trying to escape and Torres transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Deckers is forced to tap! Nice work there by Torres! Very nice indeed!
