PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Issac Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Sanchez might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Low, Down, Dirty by Eminem. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Robert Douchet and Dillan Fox.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanchez misses with a few strikes there.
Jones looks to land a right hand but Sanchez moved out of range.
Jones tries a head kick but it misses.
Sanchez is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Jones.
Jones avoids the head kick by Sanchez.
Sanchez misses with a low kick.
Sanchez uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Jones.
Jones fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sanchez avoids it really well and circles away.
Jones pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Jones scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Sanchez manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Sanchez tries to pass to full mount but Jones defends it.

Jones pushes Sanchez off and gets back to his feet.

Jones throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Jones shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Sanchez but Sanchez pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Sanchez throws a sloppy head kick and Jones moves out of range easily.
Sanchez tries to bum rush Jones with a series of wild strikes but Jones uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Jones shoots in but no luck this time.
Carlos Sanchez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Issac Jones.
Sanchez throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Jones throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sanchez's waist but Sanchez gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jones off to one side.
Jones looks gassed!
Jones misses with a wild combination.
Sanchez misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Jones.
Sanchez throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Sanchez tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Jones was well out of range. Poor timing from Sanchez.

Sanchez scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Sanchez uses his free foot to push down on Jones's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Jones.

It looks like Issac Jones has been cut.
Sanchez tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Sanchez cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Jones wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Sanchez.

Sanchez lands an elbow to the side of the head.
I would not like to be Jones right now.
Sanchez seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Jones for as long as he can get away with.

Sanchez has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Jones! Can he survive? No! He's out! Sanchez gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
