The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Beer drives through with a takedown into guard.
necon working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Beer.
necon will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
necon trying to control the position here.
necon trying to keep a closed guard but Beer is proving a slippery customer.
necon is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
necon is trying to control the position but Beer postures up.
Beer wants to pass the guard but necon is keeping the position.
necon is trying to control the position from the bottom.
necon looking to hit a scissor sweep but Beer is one step ahead there.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
necon stuffs the takedown.

Beer looks for a takedown but necon sprawls well.

necon closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - necon lands in his opponent's guard.

necon got a little sloppy there for a moment and Beer has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, necon has managed to get both his arms back between Beer's legs - danger averted.
necon thows a big elbow that misses.
Beer pulls necon in close to his closed guard and prevents necon from doing any damage or advancing position.

necon avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
necon has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

necon knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Beer on the ground.

Beer looking for a guillotine here but necon defends easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Beer looking for submissions from the bottom but instead necon passes into half guard.
necon wants to take a breather but Beer is having none of it.
necon passes to full mount!

Beer bucks necon off and manages to get back to his feet!
Beer misses with a takedown

and necon counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
sam necon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Butter Beer.
Beer tries for a takedown but necon manages to get underhooks.
Beer looking to stall.

necon has Beer pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. necon pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Beer tumbling to the mat - necon dives into Beer's guard.
necon stays in close to Beer's body and controls the position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Beer is on top in guard.
Beer forces his way into half guard.

Beer prevents necon from standing back up.
necon is not content to let Beer control the position.
necon blocking the ground and pound attempt from Beer.
Beer seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but necon does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Beer is thwarting necon's attempts to control the position.
Beer passes the guard and advances to mount!
Beer thowing shots but they're missing.

necon is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Beer locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! necon is forced to tap!
