Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between John Howard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and DJ Penncil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Howard's entrance music is Can't Touch This. A fine choice. Penncil has chosen Why can't we be Friends as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, John Howard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, DJ Penncil!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Elvis Blanc and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Howard swinging wilding here.
Howard avoids the head kick by Penncil.
Penncil shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Howard as he avoids it easily.
Howard tries to clinch up.
Penncil shoots in and drives through. Howard sprawls well.
Howard doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Penncil counters by clinching up.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Howard tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Penncil just stands there and leans against the cage.
Penncil pulls guard.
Penncil working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Howard doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Howard manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Howard postures up in Penncil's guard and throws a big left but Penncil blocks it.
Penncil is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Penncil keeping moving, preventing Howard from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Penncil escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Howard gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Penncil can't keep his opponent in guard - Howard advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Penncil looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Howard thows a huge punch but Penncil dodges it nicely.
Howard is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Howard trying to control from half guard but Penncil is working away.
Still in half guard, Howard seems content to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Howard is looking to take a break and control but Penncil is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Penncil is looking to improve his position.
Penncil looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Penncil.
Penncil looks gassed!
Howard lands a left and a right that send Penncil crashing to the mat, dazed. Howard thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Penncil is rocked!
It looks like DJ Penncil has been cut.
Penncil drops his hands momentarily. Howard doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Penncil staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Penncil doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). John Howard!
