Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Noli Santander!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Ren Mimura and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santander clinches up with MAEDA and pushes him back against the cage.

MAEDA tries for a takedown. No joy.

Santander tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and MAEDA avoids it.

Santander is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
MAEDA gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Santander regains guard.
MAEDA not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
MAEDA might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Santander working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. MAEDA doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. MAEDA manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
MAEDA won't allow Santander to sweep him here.

MAEDA is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Santander utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

MAEDA stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Santander swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Santander is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and MAEDA defends well.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Santander had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. MAEDA is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Santander Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take MAEDA's back instead.

MAEDA tries to escape but Santander has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Santander is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

MAEDA knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Santander on the ground.

MAEDA tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
MAEDA wants to hold on but Santander pushes him away.
Santander working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. MAEDA turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Santander off and cradles MAEDA's limp body as Santander celebrates with his corner.
