The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Soszynski moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Soszynski has control of Johnson's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Johnson regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Soszynski is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Johnson can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Soszynski feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Soszynski is fighting to break Johnson's control of his arms but Johnson is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Let's hope that Johnson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
