Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Julien Denis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dick Hommis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Denis drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Denis looking to sit in guard and control but Hommis gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Hommis passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Denis is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Hommis moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

Denis sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Hommis is taking a breather. Denis says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Denis throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Hommis slows the pace down in half guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Denis is trying to get back to full guard.
Denis is breathing heavily.
Hommis controlling the action here.

Denis throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Hommis sitting and controlling from the half guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Hommis tries to pass to full mount but Denis defends it.
Denis is trying to control but can't.
Denis has a hand on Hommis's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Hommis takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Hommis rushes Denis and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Denis tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Hommis just stands there and leans against the cage.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Despite being in the dominant position, Dick Hommis just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Denis wants a takedown.
A frustrated look appears on Denis's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Hommis has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Denis uses from the top position.

Dick Hommis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Denis dives in and grabs Hommis's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hommis pushes down on Denis's head and hops out.

Hommis rushes Denis and presses him up against the cage.
Hommis jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Denis walks away with a smile on his face. Hommis gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Denis shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hommis as he avoids it easily.

Denis looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Hommis continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Denis is working for takedown but Hommis is calmly controlling the position for now.

Hommis has the hooks in. Denis is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

Well Hommis has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
