PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alvaro De Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lime Snow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alvaro De Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lime Snow!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Alec Ball and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Snow tries to clinch but De Silva moves out of range.
De Silva stuffs the takedown.
Snow shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says De Silva as he avoids it easily.
De Silva shoots in and drives through. Snow sprawls well.
De Silva throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Snow's waist but Snow gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing De Silva off to one side.
Snow shoots in looking for a takedown. De Silva tries to sprawl out of it but Snow keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. De Silva manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Alvaro De Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lime Snow.

De Silva shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

De Silva shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Snow but Snow pushes him off and we're back to square one.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

De Silva drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Snow tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but De Silva wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

De Silva thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
De Silva wants to control but Snow is keeping him busy.
De Silva is breathing heavily.

De Silva is trying to get an arm triangle but Snow is defending well.
Snow is trying to get back to half guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
De Silva shoots in and drives through. Snow sprawls well.

Snow lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Snow jumps guard but De Silva stands there with Snow around his waist. Snow gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Snow wants to break free but De Silva has control.

Snow is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Snow throws a big right hand that misses.
Snow is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Alvaro De Silva dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


De Silva closes this distance looking for a takedown but Snow circles away.
Snow throws a combination. De Silva tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

De Silva changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Snow tries to avoid it but De Silva manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Snow to the ground. Snow escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Snow wants to sweep here but De Silva controlling him for the moment.

De Silva drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and De Silva jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

De Silva seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Snow does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Snow tries to stall but De Silva uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for De Silva, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
