PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hulk Smasher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin Spacey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Spacey comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Somewhere Beyond The Sea kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hulk Smasher!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kevin Spacey!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Stewart Dunkirk and Alan Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Spacey cracks Smasher with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Smasher looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Spacey finish him?

Smasher is rocked!

It looks like Hulk Smasher has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Spacey looks to land a left hand but Smasher moved out of range nicely.
Oh Smasher is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Spacey tries to clinch up.
Smasher seems to have got his legs back now.

Smasher shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Smasher wants to lay and pray for a moment but Spacey keeps working.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Smasher is trying to work for a kimura but Spacey is defending well.
Spacey is looking to escape.

Smasher is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Spacey looks like he's trying to stand up.
Smasher working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Smasher is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Smasher is breathing heavily.
Spacey looks like he's trying to stand up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Smasher trying to mount his opponent but Spacey defends it.
Spacey really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Smasher. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Spacey kicks off Smasher and gets to his feet.
Spacey is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Smasher throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Spacey was covering up waiting for the punch and Smasher finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Smasher prevents Spacey from getting back to his feet.

Smasher thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Spacey wants to stand but Smasher is controlling the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Smasher trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Smasher drops back looking for a leg! Spacey is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Spacey manages to kick Smasher off! Smasher jumps back into Spacey's guard.
Smasher stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Spacey swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Smasher works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Spacey tries to kick Smasher off but Smasher keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Spacey fails with an attempt to clinch.
Spacey tries to clinch but Smasher is having none of it.
Smasher could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Smasher gets a takedown into half guard.

Smasher has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Spacey defend it? Smasher steps over the head and cranks it - Spacey is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Smasher!
