The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Cecil Peabody and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
sparx wants to clinch up but Fitzgerald keeps it at a distance.
Fitzgerald rushes sparx and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Fitzgerald manages to break the clinch.
A punch combination from sparx misses.
Fitzgerald pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Horrible takedown by sparx or perhaps it was just good defense by Fitzgerald which made him look bad.
Fitzgerald tries to bum rush sparx with a series of wild strikes but sparx uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
sparx drops his hands momentarily and Fitzgerald takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Fitzgerald lands a really nice looking cross but sparx seems unphased.

Fitzgerald lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but sparx circles away quickly and effectively.
Fitzgerald throws a right hand that sparx ducks under and follows up with a left that sparx also avoids with ease.
Fitzgerald is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

and Fitzgerald counters by clinching up.

sparx fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Fitzgerald avoids it really well and circles away.

Fitzgerald rushes sparx with punches - sparx moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, sparx goes down! Fitzgerald follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
