The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Springs waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract desmet.
desmet ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Springs moves away.
Springs thows a body shot but no joy.
Springs looks to land a combination but desmet avoids it well.
Springs lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but desmet circles away quickly and effectively.
Springs throws a shot to the body.
Springs throws a looping overhand right but desmet ducks down to avoid it.
Springs misses with a double jab.
An inside leg kick lands from desmet.

desmet fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Springs, pushing him back against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Springs's face as he tries to break the clinch.

desmet breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Springs rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but desmet moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

desmet fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Springs, pushing him back against the cage.

Springs swings for the body but desmet moves out of range.

A head kick misses from desmet.
desmet throws a right and a left that both miss.
desmet chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Nate Springs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Springs looks to throw the jab but desmet is out of range.
Springs swings and misses with a shot to the body
and desmet counters with a body kick that stops Springs in his tracks momentarily.

desmet tries to close the distance and clinch up but Springs swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Springs throws a looping overhand right but desmet ducks down to avoid it.

desmet bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Springs, as that shot connected.

desmet keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Springs.

desmet pushes Springs up against the cage in a clinch.

Springs throws a left and a right that both miss

and desmet holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
desmet digs a right hand underneath Springs's ribcage. Springs let out a lung full of air as it connected.
desmet has Springs pressed against the cage, preventing Springs from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Springs dances in with a quick combination. desmet is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Springs snaps desmet's head back. desmet stumbles backwards against the cage. Springs steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with desmet's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. desmet just didn't come prepared.
