PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Johnathan Porradero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Song Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Johnathan Porradero!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Song Lee!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lee shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Porradero looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Lee thows a huge punch but Porradero dodges it nicely.
Lee working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Lee wants to pass to mount but Porradero is defending the position.

Lee is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Porradero defends it well.
Porradero really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Lee connects with a nice short shot to Porradero's temple.

Lee thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Porradero's head.

Lee is working for a submission of some sort.
Lee is figuring out what he wants to do next.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lee is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Lee landing strikes from the mount and Porradero is in trouble!
Porradero knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lee on the ground.

Lee takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Porradero is bucking up trying to escape but Lee cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Lee lands a nice shot to the head.
Lee cracks Porradero with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Song Lee dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Lee is nestled in close to Porradero, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Lee landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Lee working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Lee seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Lee works his way into side control.

Lee is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Porradero is trying to escape and Lee transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Porradero is forced to tap! Nice work there by Lee! Very nice indeed!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Song Lee!
