Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gunnar Rehlin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lance Champion!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Cecil Peabody and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Champion tries to score a power double leg takedown but Rehlin sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Champion somewhat.
Rehlin swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Rehlin shoots in and bounces Champion off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Champion is trying to keep Rehlin in close.

Rehlin drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Rehlin jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Rehlin drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Champion manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Rehlin has Champion in his guard.
Champion should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Rehlin is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Champion got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rehlin has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Champion has managed to get both his arms back between Rehlin's legs - danger averted.

Rehlin had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Champion is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Rehlin Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Champion's back instead.
Champion tries to escape but Rehlin has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Rehlin is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Champion defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Rehlin is not going to allow Champion to sit and survive in this position.
Rehlin has the hooks in. Champion is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Champion is really stuck here.

Rehlin is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Champion is defending well though. Rehlin let's go of the attempt for now.
Rehlin gets his hands free as Champion looks to control.
Champion holding both Rehlin 's hands and preventing any damage.
Champion can't escape the position.
A lull in the action here.

Rehlin has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Champion has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Champion turns into Rehlin and is now in his guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Rehlin manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Champion working to try and regain half guard.

Rehlin swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Champion is now in Rehlin's guard. A big mistake from Rehlin there, giving up the dominant position!

Rehlin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Champion doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Champion manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Rehlin is looking for a triangle but Champion pushes his legs off easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Champion misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Gunnar Rehlin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

It looks like Gunnar Rehlin has been cut.
Rehlin throws a series of punches but Champion moves out of range.

Champion keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Rehlin lands with a hook. Champion tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Rehlin throws a right and a left that Champion avoids nicely.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rehlin looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Champion has picked Rehlin up and slammed him! Rehlin can't keep hold of the triangle and Champion manages to pass to side control!

Champion tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Rehlin sneaks back into half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Champion is keen to just control but Rehlin is a slippery customer.
Rehlin regains full guard. Nicely done.
