Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dane Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Guru Grepp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Dane Carter has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dane Carter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Guru Grepp!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Aleksandr Martynov and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Grepp moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Grepp misses the shot to the body.
Carter ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Grepp moves away.
Carter keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Grepp throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Carter staying out of range there.
Grepp has a takedown stuffed.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Carter misses the jab.
Grepp swats away the attempt to clinch by Carter.

Some wild striking there from Carter.
The fight stays on the outside here - Carter looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Carter throws a series of punches but Grepp avoids them all with ease.

Grepp gets a takedown into half guard.
Carter is trying to get back to full guard.

Grepp is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Carter sees it coming and defends easily.

Carter wants to improve his position but Grepp is controlling well.

Grepp is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Carter is refusing to be controlled, as Grepp sits in half guard.

Grepp is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Carter has managed to free his arm - good work.
Grepp seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Carter does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Carter regains full guard. Nicely done.

Grepp drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Grepp jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Carter is trying to keep Grepp in close.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Grepp has a takedown stuffed.
Dane Carter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Guru Grepp.

Grepp shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Grepp is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Carter is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Carter has escaped and now he's on top!

Grepp has his foot on Carter's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Carter works his way back into a safe position though.

Grepp avoids a punch combination nicely.
Grepp avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Grepp shoots in and bounces Carter off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Grepp won't allow Carter to get back to his feet.

Grepp drops back looking for a leg! Carter is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Carter manages to kick Grepp off! Grepp jumps back into Carter's guard.

Grepp stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Carter swivels though and keeps the full guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Carter wants to clinch up but Grepp keeps it at a distance.
Grepp shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Carter tries to clinch but Grepp is having none of it.
Carter swinging wilding here.
Carter ducks under a wild hook from Grepp.
Grepp keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Grepp scores a takedown into full mount!

Grepp with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Grepp goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Carter turns into him and now he's in Grepp's guard.
Carter wants to pass the guard but Grepp is keeping the position.

Grepp has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Carter can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Grepp tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Carter is really struggling to control Grepp but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Carter is looking to stand up but Grepp won't let him.

Grepp is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Grepp looking for a sweep. Not yet Grepp, not yet.
Carter has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Guru Grepp showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Grepp shoots in looking for a takedown. Carter tries to sprawl out of it but Grepp keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Carter manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Grepp avoids a kick to the body.
Carter looks to land a combination but Grepp avoids it well.

Carter is looking to clinch.
Grepp slips a straight right by Carter.
Dane Carter is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Grepp looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Grepp takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Grepp prevents Carter from standing back up.
Carter is staying active underneath Grepp, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Grepp is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Carter defends it well.
Carter tries to kick Grepp off but Grepp keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Carter is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Carter wants to get back to his feet.

Grepp maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Carter could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Grepp has cracked it and Carter is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Grepp!
