The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hoffman takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Cordeiro tries to clinch there but Hoffman circles away.
Cordeiro shoots in but Hoffman avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Cordeiro shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hoffman sprawls well. Hoffman wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Cordeiro gets slowly back to his feet.

Cordeiro shoots in for a takedown but Hoffman shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Cordeiro doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Cordeiro shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hoffman pinned against the cage. Hoffman gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Despite being in the dominant position, Jake Hoffman just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Hoffman is trying to keep Cordeiro in close.
Cordeiro has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Hoffman is proving hard to escape from.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Rafael Cordeiro.
Well Hoffman has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
