Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ash Stoner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lath Hoy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stoner comes to the cage accompanied by Why Can't We Be Friends?. Hoy has chosen Go Ninja-Vanilla Ice as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hoy fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Hoy doesn't manage to clinch there - Stoner circles away.
Hoy keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Stoner jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Stoner swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Stoner misses with the combination.
Hoy swats away the attempt to clinch by Stoner.
Stoner connects with a single shot there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hoy tries to clinch up
and Stoner counters with a low kick, right behind Hoy 's knee.

Stoner misses with a two punch combination.
Stoner throws a solid leg kick but Hoy takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Stoner.
Stoner looks to land a left hand but Hoy moved out of range nicely.

and Stoner counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Hoy misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Stoner throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Stoner stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Stoner wants it to stay on the feet.
Ash Stoner has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lath Hoy.

Stoner clinches but Hoy breaks the clinch

and Hoy counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Hoy tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Stoner smiles and moves away.
Stoner tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hoy swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Lath Hoy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Stoner misses with a jab to the body

and Hoy moves into the clinch.
Hoy fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Hoy tries to pull guard but Stoner won't allow it.
Stoner is looking to control Hoy's arms but Hoy gets an underhook and turns him. Now Stoner has his back to the cage.

Stoner's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Hoy has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Stoner should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Hoy has tightened it up now! Stoner should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
