Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Simon Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Ward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ward is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by The Champ, Ghostface Killah. Chris Ward has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Simon Walker's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Simon Walker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Chris Ward!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Andrew Berry and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walker throws a right hand that Ward ducks under and follows up with a left that Ward also avoids with ease.
Simon Walker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ward tries to close the distance and clinch but Walker swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Walker drops Ward with a beautiful combination! Ward stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Walker is looking for the KO!


It looks like Chris Ward has been cut.

Ward drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Walker is looking to get back to his feet here but Ward is keeping cool and he's managed to take Walker's back.
Walker is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Walker looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands.
Ward scores with punches and elbows.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ward really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Walker.

Walker controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.
Ward just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Let's hope that Ward has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Walker is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Ward has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Walker's body.

Ward is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.

Walker manages to stand up with Ward still on his back. Eventually Ward drops to his feet and we're back in the standing position.
Walker throws a head kick but Ward moves out of range.
Ward shoots in looking for a takedown. Walker tries to sprawl out of it but Ward keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Walker manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Walker looks to land a combination but Ward avoids it well.
Walker tries to bum rush Ward with a series of wild strikes but Ward uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Walker is breathing heavily.
Walker misses with a wild combination.
Nice sprawl there from Walker as Ward shoots in.
Ward throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Ward tries a head kick but it misses.
Ward tries to clinch there but Walker circles away.
Ward moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Ward.
Ward lets loose with a powerful body kick. Walker will feel that in the morning.

Ward closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
I looks like Ward might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Ward throws a head kick but Walker moves out of range.
Walker ducks under a wild hook from Ward.
Walker throws a nice looking combination but Ward bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
No joy there for Walker, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Ward tries to score a power double leg takedown but Walker sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ward somewhat.
Walker avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Ward.
Walker tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Walker holding both Ward 's hands and preventing any damage.
Good control from Ward.

Ward working for a choke but Walker is defending well.

Ward has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Walker is in real trouble here. Ward gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Walker is tapping out! Ward wins by rear naked choke!
