The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De La Hoya showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Mathews.
De La Hoya bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Mathews's head backwards.
De La Hoya moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
De La Hoya scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
De La Hoya throws a series of strikes that have Mathews backpedaling.
It looks like Micky Mathews has been cut.

De La Hoya throws a series of punches but Mathews avoids them all with ease.

De La Hoya grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! Mathews takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! De La Hoya cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!
