Bea comes to the cage accompanied by Burn it to the Ground. James has chosen Elite as his entrance music. Killer Bea has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Killer Bea!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Phill James!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Hugh Johnson and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bea fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
James tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bea swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Bea really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
James tries to clinch but Bea is having none of it.
James lands a nice looking body kick.
James throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Bea wants to clinch.
No joy there for Bea, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
James tries to clinch up but Bea circles away and keeps his distance.
James tries to land a leg kick but Bea saw it coming and moves away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bea scores with a takedown into James's guard.
James manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
James lands a big shot there that rocks Bea but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
James has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

James prevents Bea from getting the reversal.
James lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Bea on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Bea tries to get out of the position.

James tries to control but Bea wriggling away.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Bea knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for James on the ground.
Bea wants to control but James is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
James controlling the pace for now.

James lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Bea hang on?

Bea is in a horrible position here. James smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
James tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Bea is squirming around, avoiding James's attempts to control the action.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Bea blocking the ground and pound.
Bea is working to get back to half guard.

James wants to finish this one by submission but Bea is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from James.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Bea really wants to buck James off and get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Phill James dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

James is looking to reverse the position.
Bea trying to control the position but James is working away.
Bea is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because James is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Bea tries to stand but James controls the position and pulls Bea into his guard.

Bea working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of James's head.

James uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Bea tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but James swivels and escapes.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
James doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Bea decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in James's guard.
James manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Bea manages to get himself to full guard.
James postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
James trying to control but Bea is working from the bottom.

Bea is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Bea keeping moving, preventing James from controlling successfully.
Bea is pulling down on James's head. It's preventing any offense from James, at least for the moment.
James wants to stand but Bea has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Bea pulls James in close to prevent any damage.
James passes into half guard.
James not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Killer Bea overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

James has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Bea defend it? James steps over the head and cranks it - Bea is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for James!
