Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jesus Malverde (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Boris Travos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Malverde comes to the ring accompanied by El Rey. Jesus Malverde has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jesus Malverde!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Boris Travos!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Paulsen Ambrosius and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Travos shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Travos thows a huge punch but Malverde dodges it nicely.

Travos is working for a submission of some sort.
Travos thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Malverde's head.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Travos is looking for a kimura but Malverde is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Travos to get the leverage.
Travos is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Malverde wants to control but Travos is keeping busy.
Malverde wants to get back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Travos not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Travos is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Travos in particular looking to stall.
Malverde taking some punishment here, with Travos in his half guard.
Malverde tries to kick Travos off but Travos keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Travos looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Malverde blocking the ground and pound attempt from Travos.
Malverde wants to improve his position but Travos is controlling well.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Travos shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Malverde is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Travos wants to control from the top but Malverde keeps moving.
Travos content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Malverde wants to stand and escape but Travos is having none of it.

Malverde tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Malverde has momentary wrist control but Travos slips an elbow through the middle.
Travos missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Travos postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Travos advances position into side control!
Malverde takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Malverde pushes Travos away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Travos gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Travos creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Travos scores with a couple of short elbows.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Boris Travos dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Malverde throws a sloppy head kick and Travos moves out of range easily.

Travos fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Malverde sprawls well initially but Travos persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Travos is stalling here. Malverde is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Travos seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Malverde has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Malverde tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Travos tries to bench press Malverde off him but Malverde keeps the position.
I wouldn't like to be where Travos is right now.

Travos can't do much from the bottom here.
Travos pushes Malverde away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Malverde gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Malverde tries to score a power double leg takedown but Travos sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Malverde somewhat.

Travos shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Travos showed some decent athleticism there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Travos connects with a nice short shot to Malverde's temple.
Travos winds up and cracks Malverde with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Travos wants to control but Malverde is keeping him busy.

Travos is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Malverde is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Malverde is looking to escape.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Travos is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Travos wants to work for an arm triangle but Malverde is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Travos is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Malverde still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Malverde has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Travos regains half guard there - taking advantage of Malverde's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Travos is looking to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Boris Travos showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



Travos shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Malverde is desperately trying to improve his position but Travos has a good base and remains in mount.
Travos pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Travos lands a big elbow.
Travos takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Malverde is rocked!


It looks like Jesus Malverde has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Travos loads up with a big shot that hurts Malverde! He's pulled Travos in close but Travos has postured up and lands more strikes. Can Malverde survive? More strikes from Travos and Malverde is out! The ref jumps in to save him! Brutal ground and pound!
