The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shelby throws out a loose jab but James uses good head movement to avoid it.
Shelby misses with the combination.

James lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Shelby circles away quickly and effectively.
James steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Shelby.
Shelby throws a sloppy head kick and James moves out of range easily.
Shelby throws an overhand right that lands on James's shoulder, as James tries to avoid the shot.
Shelby looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

James cracks Shelby with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
