PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Phil Baroni (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Hass (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hass has chosen Boats N Hoes as his entrance music. The key to victory for Phil Baroni has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Phil Baroni!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jack Hass!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baroni throws a nice looking combination but Hass bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
A jab from Baroni misses.
Hass fails with a takedown attempt.
Hass changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Baroni tries to avoid it but Hass manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Baroni to the ground. Baroni escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Baroni lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hass circles away quickly and effectively.
Baroni misses with a two punch combination.
Baroni throws a series of punches but Hass avoids them all with ease.
Baroni misses with a wild combination.
Baroni throws a right hand that Hass ducks under and follows up with a left that Hass also avoids with ease.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hass slips a jab and a cross from Baroni.
Baroni throws the left hand but Hass avoids the punch easily.
Baroni lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Baroni swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Baroni misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Hass shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hass showed some decent athleticism there.

Baroni is defending against the submission attempts here by Hass.
Baroni is breathing heavily.
Still in half guard, Hass seems content to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hass wants to pass to mount but Baroni is defending the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Hass seems to be working for a kimura but Baroni defends the submission attempt.
Baroni looks like he's trying to stand up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hass passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Baroni!

Hass looking to control but Baroni is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Baroni has left one of his arms exposed and Hass doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Baroni screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
