PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Justin Willis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juno Ku (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Ku has eaten all the pies!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Ku fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Ku is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Juno Ku showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Ku dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Ku shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Willis napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Willis takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Willis wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Ku cracks Willis with a big right hand but Willis just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Ku really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Willis. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Willis has his feet on Ku's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Ku wants to clinch.
Ku tries to close the distance and clinch but Willis swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Ku throws a combination. Willis tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Horrible takedown by Ku or perhaps it was just good defense by Willis which made him look bad.
Willis sizes up Ku with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Ku will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Willis shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Ku manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Ku is looking to stand up but Willis isn't so interested in that idea.

Ku is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Juno Ku comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Ku has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
