Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ed Reed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cotton Hill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Hill's choice of entrance music: Line of Blood- Ty Stone. Ed Reed has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ed Reed!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Cotton Hill!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slapping leg kick lands for Hill.
Reed blocks a head kick by Hill.
Hill moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Reed scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Hill is doing well to control the position and prevent Reed from advancing to side control.
Hill is looking to improve his position.

Reed is trying to work for a kimura but Hill is defending well.
Hill has hold of Reed's hands but Reed slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Reed working the head and body with strikes.
Hill wants to get back to his feet.
Hill is controlling Reed's trapped leg to prevent Reed from advancing to side control.

Reed stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hill swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hill has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Reed has passed into side control.
Hill manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Hill is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Reed!

Reed is in all sorts of trouble here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Reed is breathing heavily.

Reed can't escape the position.
Hill takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Despite being in the dominant position, Cotton Hill just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Reed takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Hill is looking to land body kicks.
Hill takes a swing at Reed's ribcage but misses.
Reed shoots in and drives through. Hill sprawls well.
Hill lands a nice leg kick that just misses Reed's sensitive parts.
Hill misses with a kick to the body.
Cotton Hill seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hill thumps Reed with a low kick.

Reed avoids the head kick by Hill.

Hill throws a front kick aimed at Reed's knee but Reed avoids it well.
Hill throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Hill is looking to score with low kicks.
Hill throws a half hearted mid kick.
Reed misses with a combination
and Hill counters with a nice leg kick.
Hill throws a push kick but Reed slaps the foot to one side.
Reed walks forward, straight into a front kick from Hill.
A nice leg kick lands there from Hill.
Hill lands with a kick to the ribs.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Nice body kick there by Hill.
Reed stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Hill.
Reed is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Hill pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A solid leg kick lands there for Hill.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cotton Hill dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Ed Reed's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Hill throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Hill lands a nice leg kick that just misses Reed's sensitive parts.
A chopping leg kick lands by Hill.

Hill gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Hill manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Reed manages to get himself to full guard.
Hill's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Hill wants to pass the guard but Reed is keeping the position.

Reed has his foot on Hill's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hill works his way back into a safe position though.

Hill gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Hill throws a nice inside leg kick.

Reed takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Hill turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Hill dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Reed. That did some damage!
Reed closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hill circles away.
A slapping body kick lands there for Hill.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Hill.
Reed takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Ed Reed is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Hill dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Reed. That did some damage!
A head kick from Hill lands but Reed takes it in his stride.
Hill feints and then cracks Reed's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Reed down.
Hill looks for the body kick but Reed saw that one coming.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Reed checks a leg kick.

Hill misses with a head kick.

Reed shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hill is looking to escape.
Reed not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Hill tries to get to full guard but Reed has control of the leg.

Reed is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Reed thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
The fighters are battling for position here. Hill manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Hill manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Reed really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Hill looking to control and managing it successfully.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Reed sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

Hill takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Reed is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Hill pulls his head out easily.
Hill not doing much here.
Let's hope that Hill has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Good leg kick by Hill there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Hill lands a head kick. Reed smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Reed takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The crowd cheers as Hill lands an impressive looking overhand right. Reed doesn't seem phased though.
A slapping body kick lands there for Hill.
Both fighters circling a little - Hill finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cotton Hill showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Reed takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Reed throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hill sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Hill has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Hill thuds his shin into the meat of Reed's side.
Horrible takedown by Reed or perhaps it was just good defense by Hill which made him look bad.
Reed moves out of range as Hill throws a body kick.
Reed takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Hill lands a front kick.
Reed sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Hill throws a head kick but Reed moves out of range.
Hill swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Cotton Hill seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Hill throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Reed keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

Reed will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body.
Hill buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Reed steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Hill. That one must have hurt.

Hill throws a right hand that Reed ducks under and follows up with a left that Reed also avoids with ease.
Hill throws a wild body kick that Reed sees coming a mile off.
Reed fails to land the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ed Reed. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hill fakes the leg kick and cracks Reed in the body.
Reed takes one to the side of the head.
Hill lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Reed shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hill as he jumps to the side.
Hill is looking to slow Reed down with leg kicks.

Reed avoids the head kick by Hill.
Reed takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Reed!

Hill dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Reed. That did some damage!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Reed misses with a series of wild punches.
Hill throws out a loose jab but Reed uses good head movement to avoid it.
Cotton Hill is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Reed scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Hill has his hands clasped together around Reed's back. He's all about the action.
Reed is looking to stall here but Hill recovers full guard.
Hill pulls Reed in close to prevent any damage.

Hill has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Reed off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Cotton Hill comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Hill has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
