The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCartney throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Johnson stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
McCartney moves out of range as Johnson throws a body kick.
McCartney lands with a straight right. Johnson didn't see that one coming.
Johnson tries to bum rush McCartney with a series of wild strikes but McCartney uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

McCartney shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

McCartney drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and McCartney jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
McCartney content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
McCartney chips away with some ground and pound.
McCartney connects with a couple of short punches.
McCartney sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Johnson's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

McCartney is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Johnson is just riding it out for now. McCartney eventually gives up the hold.

McCartney tries to pass the half guard into mount. Johnson knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Johnson has hold of McCartney's hands but McCartney slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Johnson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McCartney. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Johnson looks like he's trying to stand up.

McCartney seems to be working for a kimura but Johnson defends the submission attempt.

McCartney has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Johnson is trying to stand up here but McCartney is controlling him well.
