Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tony Starks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Begeman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Starks comes to the cage accompanied by Bring Da Ruckus. Begeman has chosen Watcher as his entrance music. James Begeman has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tony Starks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, James Begeman!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Saam Ante and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Starks throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Begeman was covering up waiting for the punch and Starks finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Starks is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Begeman keeping moving, preventing Starks from controlling successfully.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Starks accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Starks postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Begeman is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Starks, into his guard.
Starks has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Begeman is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Starks is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Starks has escaped and now he's on top!
Begeman really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Starks. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Starks postures up.

Starks wants to control from the top but Begeman keeps moving.
Starks pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Begeman is keeping the position for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Starks is in close to Begeman's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Starks loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Starks might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Starks postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Begeman is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Starks, into his guard.

Starks drops back looking for a leg! Begeman is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Begeman manages to kick Starks off! Starks jumps back into Begeman's guard.

Starks throws a big right hand that misses.
Starks trying to control the position from guard on top but Begeman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Starks controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Starks is looking to work some ground and pound but Begeman has wrist control.
Starks prevents Begeman from getting back to his feet.
Starks sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Begeman's guard.
Begeman pushes Starks off looking to stand but Starks dives back in and keeps control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Starks's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Starks ducks under a wild hook from Begeman.
James Begeman is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Begeman throws a hook but Starks avoids it easily.
Some wild striking there from Begeman.
Starks shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Begeman but Begeman pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Begeman throws a body punch but Starks moves out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Begeman misses with a jab, cross combination.

Begeman misses with an uppercut.

Starks gets the takedown into side control.

Starks thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Starks working the ground and pound but Begeman is defending the strikes.
Starks is looking to take a break and control but Begeman is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Begeman regains half guard there - taking advantage of Starks's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Starks is keen to just control but Begeman is a slippery customer.

Begeman is looking to escape.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Starks fails with a takedown attempt.

Starks scores a takedown into full mount!
Starks avoids the attempt from Begeman to control.
Starks throwing strikes here but Begeman is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Starks looking for a guillotine from mount but Begeman is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Starks postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Begeman looks a forlorn figure.
Begeman is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Starks looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Begeman can do anything to dispel that myth.
Starks lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Begeman is trying to escape the mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!



Starks shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Starks jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Begeman is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Begeman and Starks has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Begeman is looking to reverse the position.
Begeman wants to control but Starks postures up.
Begeman is looking to reverse the position.
Starks scoring with punches from side control.
Starks grinds an elbow into Begeman's temple.
Starks cracks Begeman with a big right hand but Begeman just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Begeman is trying to buck Starks off.

Starks working the head and body with strikes.
Begeman is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Starks is controlling him well.
Begeman takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Starks looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Begeman struggling a bit here.
Begeman wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Starks tries for a kimura but Begeman is defending well.

Starks tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Starks has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Tony Starks overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Begeman is looking for a sweep.

Starks thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Starks wants to lay and pray for a moment but Begeman keeps working.
Starks misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Begeman is looking for a sweep.

Begeman tries to improve position but can't.
Starks in the domination position with Begeman hanging on.
Begeman is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Begeman is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Starks's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Starks's back!
Begeman doesn't have the hooks in and Starks manages to turn into his guard.
Begeman wants to sweep but no luck.
Begeman wants to stand up but Starks is controlling him.
Starks connects with a couple of short punches.
Begeman utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Starks throwing strikes but missing.
Starks throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Starks loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Starks is working Begeman over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
James Begeman has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Tony Starks is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Begeman throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Starks, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
