Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bogan Riley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joseph Stevenson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stevenson has chosen Higher Ground - Red Hot Chili Peppers as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bogan Riley!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joseph Stevenson!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Alec Ball and Trevor Gratis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stevenson moves into range and clinches up with Riley.
A short right from Stevenson.
Stevenson with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Stevenson is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Stevenson obliges.
Riley blocks an elbow strike.

Stevenson wants the takedown. Riley is fighting it off but Stevenson persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Riley's guard against the cage.

Stevenson postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Riley is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Stevenson, into his guard.

Stevenson is desperately trying to improve his position but Riley has a good base and remains in mount.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Stevenson tries to lock up and control but Riley gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Stevenson is working to get back to half guard.

Riley is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Riley looks to land a right hand but Stevenson moved out of range.
Stevenson wants to clinch.
Bogan Riley is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Riley stuns Stevenson with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Stevenson looks gassed!
Stevenson shoots in for a takedown but Riley shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Riley swings for the body but Stevenson moves out of range.
Stevenson wants to clinch up but Riley keeps it at a distance.

Riley digs a good hook to Stevenson's body.
Riley misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Riley misses with a series of wild punches.
Riley smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Riley lands with a straight right. Stevenson didn't see that one coming.

Riley tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Stevenson was well out of range. Poor timing from Riley.
Riley lands with a hook. Stevenson tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Stevenson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Riley defends it nicely.
Bogan Riley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joseph Stevenson.
Riley throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Stevenson takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Stevenson drops his hands momentarily and Riley takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Riley is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Riley scores with a jab. Stevenson acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Stevenson walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Riley lands a body shot.

Riley lands a left and a right that send Stevenson crashing to the mat, dazed. Riley thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Stevenson is rocked!
Riley steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! Stevenson is out on his feet! Riley sets himself and nearly takes Stevenson's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!
