The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

St Pennianenko fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Petrov manages to avoid it.

Petrov decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Petrov is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, St Pennianenko has escaped the position, nice work there.

Petrov tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Petrov has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

St Pennianenko looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Petrov tries to close the distance and clinch but St Pennianenko swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
No joy there for St Pennianenko, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Anderson St Pennianenko is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Petrov works his way into side control.

Petrov is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. St Pennianenko knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Petrov fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. St Pennianenko sprawls well initially but Petrov persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Petrov is pressing down on St Pennianenko's thigh, looking to free his foot. St Pennianenko is holding on for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Petrov lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Petrov has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can St Pennianenko defend it? Petrov steps over the head and cranks it - St Pennianenko is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Petrov!
