Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Greg Briers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Sapp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Greg Briers has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Greg Briers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bob Sapp!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Elvis Blanc and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Briers closes the distance and clinches up with Sapp, looking for a takedown. Briers pushes Sapp against the cage but Sapp circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Briers wants to clinch up but Sapp keeps it at a distance.

Sapp moves into range and clinches up with Briers.
Briers scores with an uppercut up the middle.

Sapp wants the takedown. Briers is fighting it off but Sapp persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Briers's guard against the cage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sapp is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Sapp gets to his feet - Briers follows without any prompting.
Sapp fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Briers shoots in but Sapp avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Briers throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Briers darts in trying to clinch

and Sapp moves into the clinch.

Sapp breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Sapp clinches.

Briers gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Sapp managing to control the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Sapp kicks Briers off and gets to his feet.
Sapp dodges the punch combination from Briers.
Briers is breathing heavily.
Briers tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Sapp was well out of range. Poor timing from Briers.

Sapp clinches up with Briers and pushes him back against the cage.

Sapp's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Briers avoids the body shot from Sapp.

Sapp forces Briers back against the cage and clinches.
Briers is leaning against Sapp and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Briers goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Sapp lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Briers is trying to stand up here but Sapp is controlling him well.
Sapp takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sapp prevents Briers from standing back up.
Sapp keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Sapp stops Briers from getting back to his feet.
Sapp is controlling the pace.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Briers is trying to escape back to his feet but Sapp uses the scramble to pass into side control.

Sapp stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Sapp closes the distance and pushes Briers back into the cage.

Sapp tightens his grip and picks Briers up, before dumping him to the ground. Briers manages to land in guard.
Sapp controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Briers has a closed guard, preventing Sapp from standing up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Sapp trying to control the position from guard on top but Briers is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Sapp prevents Briers from getting back to his feet.
Sapp slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Sapp misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Briers is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Sapp has just dragged him back down to the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bob Sapp dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Briers tries to clinch but Sapp moves away

and Sapp counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Sapp obliges.

Sapp successfully pulls guard.
Briers in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Sapp wants to sweep here but Briers controlling him for the moment.
Briers scoring with punches to the head and body.
Briers working some strikes from top position.
Sapp looking for a sweep. Not yet Sapp, not yet.
Briers has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Sapp has his feet on Briers's thighs here. He's pushed Briers off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Briers screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:53 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Bob Sapp!
