PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sam Shaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damian Zork (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Sam Shaw has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sam Shaw!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Damian Zork!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Robert Twigg and Frank Dennis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shaw stalks Zork and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Zork's face. Zork staggers backwards, shaken.

It looks like Damian Zork has been cut.
Shaw comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Shaw throws a series of punches but Zork moves out of range.
Shaw stuffs the takedown attempt from Zork. Zork gets slowly back to his feet.
Zork shoots in for a takedown but Shaw shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Shaw tries to bum rush Zork with a series of wild strikes but Zork uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Shaw changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Zork looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Shaw goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Zork rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Shaw's guard! Nice work there by Zork!

Zork seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Shaw is trying to control the position but Zork postures up.

Zork wants to control from the top but Shaw keeps moving.
Zork wants to get up but he can't break Shaw's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Zork really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Shaw. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Zork has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Shaw to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Zork is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Shaw pulls down on the head and he's put Zork to sleep! This one is all over!
