Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Colin Gray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and TJ Reynolds (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Colin Gray!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, TJ Reynolds!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Ian Loll and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gray closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Gray lands in his opponent's guard.

Reynolds is looking to stand up but Gray isn't so interested in that idea.
Gray postures up.
Gray is pushing down on Reynolds's leg trying to pass to half guard. Reynolds is fighting to maintain full guard but Gray has managed to sneak the leg through.
Reynolds is staying active underneath Gray, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Gray is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Reynolds defends it well.

Gray throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Gray stalling.
Reynolds won't allow Gray to pass to mount.
Reynolds is not content to let Gray control the position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Gray seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Reynolds for as long as he can get away with.
Gray is trying to control the action in half guard but Reynolds is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Well, if Gray is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Colin Gray just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Gray takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Gray changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Reynolds tries to avoid it but Gray manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Reynolds to the ground. Reynolds escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Gray drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Gray ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Gray shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Gray was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Gray can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Reynolds is looking to escape.
Gray is breathing heavily.

Gray has control of Reynolds's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Reynolds regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Reynolds is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Gray jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Reynolds manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Gray wants to lay and pray for a moment but Reynolds keeps working.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Gray is really struggling to control Reynolds but he's trying to hold on to the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Gray fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Gray keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
TJ Reynolds seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Reynolds throws a sloppy head kick and Gray moves out of range easily.

Gray drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Gray is trying to get an arm triangle but Reynolds is defending well.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Gray trying to control the position but Reynolds is working away.
Gray is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Reynolds is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Gray has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Reynolds!

Gray is standing up, even though he is in mount.
Reynolds lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Gray decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gray seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Reynolds does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Gray is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Reynolds sees it coming and defends easily.
Gray wants to lay and pray for a moment but Reynolds keeps working.
Gray seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Gray wants to take a breather but Reynolds is having none of it.
Reynolds really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gray. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Gray is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Gray works his foot free and advances to mount.
Reynolds is working to get back to half guard.

Gray wants to finish this one by submission but Reynolds is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Gray.

Poor strikes thrown by Gray there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Gray trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Gray thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Gray content just to control the position here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Reynolds tries to land a leg kick but Gray saw it coming and moves away.
Reynolds throws a head kick that half lands.
Gray shoots for a double leg takedown but Reynolds sprawls well. He's pushed Gray's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Gray shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Reynolds as he jumps to the side.
Gray tries for a takedown but Reynolds circles away easily
and Reynolds counters with a stiff right hand.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Colin Gray. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A punch combination from Reynolds misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gray looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Reynolds slaps away a takedown attempt from Gray, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Horrible takedown by Gray or perhaps it was just good defense by Reynolds which made him look bad.
Reynolds throws a head kick that misses.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Gray circles away from the clinch attempt.

Gray feints and as Reynolds raises his hands in defense, Gray changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Gray wants to control from the top but Reynolds keeps moving.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Gray gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Gray misses with a head kick.
Gray keeps the fight on the outside.
Reynolds doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Gray counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Gray passes Reynolds's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Gray looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gray frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Gray controlling from the full mount.

Gray working for a submission but Reynolds is keeping him at bay.

Gray working for a guillotine from mount but Reynolds is in no mood to give up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Reynolds is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Gray trying to control but he's not successful this time.

And that's the end of the fight!
Colin Gray showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Gray, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
