Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Francois Gays (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shawn Scoon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gays comes to the cage accompanied by sexy back de justin timberlake. Scoon has chosen Get Up by 50 Cent as his entrance music. Francois Gays has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gays fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Scoon scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Gays doesn't seem bothered though.

Scoon smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Scoon instigates a clinch.
Gays tries to break free but Scoon pushes him back against the cage.

Scoon has hold of one of Gays's legs. Gays is fighting the takedown attempt but Scoon gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Scoon must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Scoon stands and steps away. Gays gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Scoon feints and as Gays raises his hands in defense, Scoon changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

You get the feeling that Scoon really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Scoon sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Scoon is looking for a sweep. Gays is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Gays wants to free his trapped foot but Scoon is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Still in half guard, Gays seems content to control.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Scoon is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Scoon swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Gays is now in Scoon's guard. A big mistake from Scoon there, giving up the dominant position!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Gays shoots for a double leg takedown but Scoon sprawls well. He's pushed Gays's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Gays with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Scoon to score with a decent uppercut.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well Scoon has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
