Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alistair Rutten (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jesus Slate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Slate comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Fuck the Shit kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Alistair Rutten has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Alistair Rutten!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jesus Slate!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Aafke Stam and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slate throws a hook but Rutten avoids it easily.
Slate throws a looping overhand right but Rutten ducks down to avoid it.
Rutten shoots in looking for a takedown. Slate tries to sprawl out of it but Rutten keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Slate manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Rutten bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Slate's head.
Slate misses with a two punch combination.
Slate slips under a jab.
Slate uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Rutten.
Slate on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Rutten. Rutten obviously looking to wear him down.
Slate ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rutten moves away.
Nice uppercut lands for Slate. That snapped Rutten's head back.
Slate misses with a straight left.
Slate looks to land a combination but Rutten avoids it well.
Rutten fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Rutten tries to score a power double leg takedown but Slate sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rutten somewhat.

Jesus Slate is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Rutten fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Slate sprawls well initially but Rutten persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Rutten missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Slate really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rutten. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Rutten is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Slate to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.

Slate is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Slate can do anything to dispel that myth.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rutten looking to control but Slate is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Slate is in all sorts of trouble here.
Rutten has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Rutten jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Slate is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Slate and Rutten has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

I think Slate has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
