PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sir Didymus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raymond Yacht (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Didymus might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Your Face = Mine now. Raymond Yacht is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sir Didymus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Raymond Yacht!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Yves DeLean and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Didymus swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Didymus shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Didymus was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Yacht can't escape the position.
Didymus with shots to the head and body - Yacht looks very uncomfortable down there.

Didymus is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Yacht is surviving well by controlling Didymus's body position as best he can.
Didymus throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Yacht is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Yacht is squirming around, avoiding Didymus's attempts to control the action.

Didymus is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Yacht can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Didymus has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Didymus fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Yacht sprawls well initially but Didymus persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Didymus ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Yacht moves away.

so Didymus counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Didymus drops back looking for a leg! Yacht is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Yacht manages to kick Didymus off! Didymus jumps back into Yacht's guard.

Yacht is looking to stand up but Didymus isn't so interested in that idea.
Sir Didymus overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Yacht is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

That was a close second round but I would say that Sir Didymus will probably get the nod.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Yacht takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Yacht is trying to control Didymus's posture but Didymus avoids it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Didymus got a little sloppy there for a moment and Yacht has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Didymus has managed to get both his arms back between Yacht's legs - danger averted.

Sir Didymus showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Didymus, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
