Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sasa Gusi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dizzy Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gusi's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Marsirala Kralja Petra Garda. Dizzy Jones has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sasa Gusi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dizzy Jones!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Aleksandr Martynov and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones fails to land with a series of punches.

Gusi shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Gusi is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Gusi thows a huge punch but Jones dodges it nicely.

Jones really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gusi. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Gusi thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Jones parries the strikes from Gusi easily there. Gusi is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Jones to escape.

Jones wants to control but Gusi postures up.
Jones is pushing Gusi's head away, looking to escape. Gusi manages to hold on to the position though.

Gusi tries to move to full mount but Jones actually manages to regain half guard.
Gusi thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Jones's head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Gusi shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Gusi showed some decent athleticism there.

Gusi is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jones is just riding it out for now. Gusi eventually gives up the hold.

Gusi has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Gusi is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Jones doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gusi.

Gusi throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Jones was covering up waiting for the punch and Gusi finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Jones wants to stand up but Gusi is controlling him.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Gusi looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Jones is fending him off so far but Gusi persists. Nope, Jones circles away and we're back to standing.
Sasa Gusi is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Gusi tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jones sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gusi somewhat.
Jones goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.


It looks like Sasa Gusi has been cut.
Gusi is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Jones jabs Gusi right on the nose. Gusi blinks but takes it well.
Gusi shoots in but no luck this time.

Gusi closes the distance and clinches up with Jones, looking for a takedown. Gusi pushes Jones against the cage but Jones circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
