Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Shiro Yamada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Deyssem Cordem (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Deyssem Cordem has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Shiro Yamada's chin.

The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yukihiro Yamamoto.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yamada stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Yamada wants it to stay on the feet.
Cordem fails with the takedown.
Yamada throws out a powerful jab.
Yamada scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Cordem looks for a takedown but Yamada sprawls well.
Shiro Yamada has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Deyssem Cordem.
Cordem takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Cordem closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Cordem lands in his opponent's guard.

Cordem drops back, looking for a kneebar! Yamada looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Yamada looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Yamada!

Yamada lands a decent elbow from side control.
Cordem looks gassed!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Yamada decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Yamada lands a nice shot that snaps Cordem's head back.
Yamada is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Yamada looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Yamada lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Yamada decides to stand up.
Cordem takes one to the chin there.

Cordem gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Yamada to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Yamada slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Yamada stands and throws Cordem's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Yamada decides to stand up, so the ref orders Cordem to his feet.
Cordem fails with the takedown

and Yamada counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Yamada lands a damaging elbow.

Yamada's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Yamada moves into range and clinches up with Cordem.
Yamada lands a nice uppercut.
Yamada stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Yamada lands an elbow that stopped Cordem in his tracks for a moment.

Yamada has picked Cordem up - he's going for a ride! Yamada dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Yamada content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Cordem tries to get to full guard but Yamada has control of the leg.

Cordem should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Yamada seems to be looking for submissions.
Yamada working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Cordem is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Yamada has latched onto it... Big trouble! Yamada pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Cordem is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Yamada!
